Vardhman Mahavir Medical College was established at Safdarjung Hospital by the Government of India. It was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of India, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the year 2001. VMMC College has established itself as a prestigious medical institution in India. The college is affiliated with the famous Safdarjang Hospital for clinical teaching.  Admission for the MBBS course in the institute is based on the NEET UG, and admission for MD or MS is based on the NEET PG exam.
