Dedicated to advancing medical education and healthcare, it was the first university in India exclusively focused on Medical, Dental, Nursing, and Allied Health Sciences. Dr. N.T. Rama Rao served as the first Chancellor, and its headquarters in Vijayawada has been instrumental in developing medical education in Andhra Pradesh. Currently, the Honorable Governor of Andhra Pradesh serves as the Chancellor.
