IIT Bhubaneswar was set up in 2008 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, as one of the eight new IITs. The institute is located in Bhubaneswar, the capital of the Indian state of Odisha. In the QS Asia University Rankings 2025, IIT Bhubaneswar attained 421-430th rank. IIT Bhubaneswar Admission to B.Tech depends on valid JEE Advanced scores and JoSAA Counselling. For M.Tech admission, selection is based on GATE scores followed by COAP Counselling. The institute conducts a written test and personal interview for admission to the PhD course.
